Founded in Penang in 2007, Emmanuel Haute Couture is an independent design atelier creating bespoke and made to measure wedding gowns, eveningwear and cheongsam.

For us, a beautiful gown starts with a beautiful idea and is finished by a very good hand.

We design with the woman in mind, but we also believe in the discipline of the craft. Proportion, silhouette, fabric, construction and embellishment all have to work together. When they do, the gown has a presence of its own.

Much of what makes a gown beautiful cannot be seen in a photograph. It is in the way the shoulder sits, the fall of a skirt, the balance of a silhouette and the way the fabric moves when a woman walks. These are the details we spend our time on.

Our work is designed and made within our atelier in Penang, where the process remains close from the first fitting to the final stitch. Every gown passes through the hands of the people who made it, and that connection between design and making is at the heart of Emmanuel.

There is a distinctly feminine character to our work. We love beautiful proportion, fine fabrics and exquisite detail. We believe a gown should have presence, and that every detail should contribute to the whole.

The work is demanding. That is precisely why we love it.

Nearly twenty years on, the pursuit remains the same: to make something beautiful, and to make it exceptionally well.
